This is a smaller serving platter in the flow mulberry Rhone Scenery pattern by Thomas, John and Joshua Mayer (T J & J Mayer). The pattern is the classic river scene with people in a boat on the river, trees and buildings. It has a deep color and flow but with clear design details.
Age and Maker: T J & J Mayer between 1843 and 1855.
Condition issues: On the bottom corner of the back foot there is a small variation in the edge, either a really old chip or a firing flaw. There is staining on the front and back. Also, another kiln characteristic are drips from items higher in the kiln which show up as lots of little circles on the front of this platter.
Size: 13 1/2" x 10 1/2"
This is a very collected flow mulberry pattern with some unique characteristics that would make a nice, usable addition to your collection.
