Harding Black Milk Pitcher Oxidation Blue over Black Red Clay

This is a pretty little piece by American potter Harding Black. It is a wheel-thrown milk pitcher in his signature red clay, using Oxidation Blue glaze over black, which makes the blue electric. It is one of his later pieces reflecting a lifetime of experience hand-turning pottery and glazing it.

Size: The vase is 5" tall, 4" wide at the body, 6" wide at the handles, and the foot is 2 1/2" across.

Condition: No chips, cracks or breaks. There is a pre-firing flaw on the circle of the foot, a smudge that occurred when the clay was unfired.

Maker and Age: Signed Harding Black of San Antonio, TX, 1987.

This is a pretty piece made by an iconic pottery maker and would make a nice addition or start to your collection.
