This is a ball-shaped lightning insulator made of vaseline glass. It fluoresces violently under black light. The two pieces fit together and at one time were painted--paint flecks still cling to some of the pieces. This glass insulator has been out of circulation and in a private collection for several years.
Condition issues: One of the halves was broken in half just to one side of the pierced center.
Size: The insulator is app 4" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall. The opening for the rod on each side is exactly 9/16" on each side.
