Later 20th century European Impressionist-style oil painting

This cute late 20th century (post 1960) European oil painting was done by an art student in Denmark. Painted in Impressionistic style, the scene features two small figures in a punt boat on a calm stream in the forest. The colors are bright and simple, the scene drawing the eye to the two small figures, whose clothes are a scarlet red, making them leap from the canvas amongst the dominant greens and yellows.

Age: post WW-II based on the type of paint used, and based on the exposed canvas and nail on the back, most likely 1960s-70s.

Origin: Denmark, although the student may have been from elsewhere. the signature is partly legible and appears to be Wah den Berghe.

Condition: Very good. No obvious flaws in the paint finish, a few scratches and dents on the frame.

Size: Framed, 17" x 21" : Exposed painting 11" x 16".
