This is a flow blue coffee cup and saucer in the Woodbine pattern by H & Co, from the 1890s. It is a floral, dark blue transferware pattern with flowers, bow-like leaves and bees. The sturdiness of the stoneware indicates it may have been hotel or train china.
Size: Cup, 4 3/8" handle to opposite side, 3 5/8" across at the opening, 2 1/8" across the foot. Saucer, 6" across. The set is just over 3" tall.
Age and maker: 1890s, H & Co
Condition: No chips or breaks. The handle has a crack and there is a pre-glaze lump under the glaze with some extra crazing around it. Some additional crazing. The stoneware seems darkened with age.
This is a very usable, antique coffee cup and saucer which would make a nice addition to your collection.
