This beautiful, large serving platter is in the Clarence pattern by Grindley. It features a floral pattern on the border of the platter, which has a scalloped edge and a beaded rim with a floral embossing just inside the beaded rim. An inner ring of embossing is a gentle scallop. This is a delicate floral pattern on one of Grindley's most popular semi-porcelain shapes.
Age and maker: Grindley, and based on the mark, it is late 1901 - 1914.
Condition issues: The front of the platter shows some crazing stain spots and utensil marks. The back has some scratches and scuff marks.
Size: 18 1/4" by 13 1/2" and about 2" tall. It is a deeper platter and large enough to hold a good sized turkey.
This beautiful platter would make a nice addition to your collection or dinner table.
