This adorable three-piece flow blue tea set is in the Orchid pattern by John Maddock. Petra Williams dates this pattern to 1896.
The pattern is an asymmetrical, flow blue floral pattern with orchids, leaves, large and small flowers and a butterfly or two. A heavy dusting of gold is on the edges.
The tea set includes an individual teapot, creamer/milk pitcher and sugar bowl. Both the teapot and sugar bowl have lids. The pieces are too large to be a child's tea service, but small enough to be placed on a bedtray for an individual tea service.
Condition issues: These pieces have no chips, cracks or crazing but have been professionally restored prior to my acquiring them. I have included closeups of the repairs which are the off-color spots on the teapot spout and the lip of the creamer. I had to put the pieces under bright light to easily see the repairs, but they are not invisible.
Size: Measurements include handle to spout. Teapot: 6" tall, 7" wide and 4 1/2" at the widest part of the body. The foot is ~3" across. Creamer/milk pitcher: 4" tall and 4" wide, 3 1/4" at the widest part of the body. The foot is ~2 1/2" across. Sugar bowl: 5" tall, 5 1/2" wide, 4" widest part of the body. The foot is ~3" across.
