Josiah Wedgwood Pearlware Flow Blue soup plate

This shallow soup plate is impressed with "WEDGWOOD" and "PEARL" markings on the back--Pearlware refers to the type or color of stoneware, not necessarily the pattern.

Circa 1830-1840, based on the markings and references in flow blue and mark books. The pattern is a deep cobalt, flow blue floral with an embossed border on pearlware.

Condition issues: There is a small, old chip on the rim (looks like a burn mark) and a few knife marks in center.

The dish is app 9 1/2" in diameter and 1" tall. An absolutely gorgeous piece and an opportunity to own a piece of both pearlware and very early flow blue.
