Vintage Austrian Made Micro Petit Point Ashtray

This is a lovely piece made in Austria, acquired by my grandfather on a trip to Austria in the 1950's. Beautiful petit point roses are clustered in the center surrounded by a tan border with golden underlay and gold flecked zig zag. Embossed golden metal rim with 3 cigarette rests soldered on. One is slightly bent. Background fabric began as cornflower blue but has deepened over years to a almost royal purple. The fabric feels like a cotton wool blend. All of the ash bowl covered with protective glass. One area up by rim shows moisture may have gotten in at some point; but it is not distracting. Back is all fabric which is slightly worn and center remains the cornflower blue. Metal work is quite dainty and impressive; stamped 'Made in Austria'. Measures 5" across.
