France- late 19th century
Very large pair of Louis XV - XVI transitional carved gilt chairs with tapestry covering in the late 18th century taste (Boucher etc..)Nicely carved frames with some red bole bleeding through to compliment the gilding . The tapestry backs are in very good 'antique' condition. The seats are a little less so , some fraying around seat fronts, one in good 'antique condition " the other fair "antique condition ". The fair condition seat shows hand stitching repairs ..The back's satin in total but charming decay .Chairs are sturdy and large Measures approximately 41 "tall, 23" deep and 29"wide (seat rail point )
