Rare, 1930's Popeye the Sailor, Soap on a Rope...

We discovered, tucked away,this wonderful SOAP ON A ROPE from the 1930's. It is a wonderful likeness of Cartoon Character POPEYE THE SAILOR. We had originally acquired it from the original owner who had received it as a Christmas Gift and never used it. The figure itself measures 3 ½" x 2 ½" and the rope extends to 16", overall it is in fairly good shape the likeness of the famous sailor is in tact however there is some, what we assume is ‘water’ damage where is had gotten wet many years ago as it was stored in a trunk in the basement for over 50 years! The rope still has the original tag that reads..’A KERK GUILD Product’. Patt. App. For. Still retains the soap odor, from a non-smoking environment....
