Navajo Ketoh Or Bow Guard 1920-1930

Seven lovely green turquoise stones make this ornate twelve button Ketoh a wonder. Heavily repoussed and finely stamped, the intricately patterned oval button are marvelous as is the delicately scalloped edging and the hand filed serrated bezels on the stones. The old blue green turquoise has aged wonderfully and has a natural copper colored matrix. The Ketoh measures 3 1/4" x 2 1/4". The large tested sterling silver buttons are 3/4". The leather measure 8 1/4". Native tan deer hide ties. One hole has ripped through on the cowhide.
