Early Santo Domingo Polychrome Basket Pot

This 1930's Santo Domingo pot is a collectors dream so reminiscent of the early story teller figures. In cream, black and red ochre, sold along the Sante Fe railroad lines and based on the Anglo picnic baskets of that period with diamond and wing patterns. This is a fine example of the early tourist ware of the 1930's. 6" x 7" Pictures #1, #3 and #7 clearly show it has a crack visible on both sides of the pot that travels downward from the rim, ending about halfway down the side.
