A large Northern Arapaho pipe bag measuring 32" x 8" with the central beaded area a large 8" x 10". This lovely example features early bead colors and 1880's faceted brass seed beads. Bead work is totally intact featuring the faceted brass, opaque cobalt blue, white center red, Sioux green and deep blue opaque beads of this period against 24 rows of chalk white. Beading is sinew sewn and 100% present. Four vertical lanes and rolled edging are also perfectly intact. The upper hide of the bag shows period scraping flaws and original tight sinew repair. (Virtually invisible.) There are also a few small holes of undetermined origin although this doesn't affect the overall visual strength of the piece. This is one of the largest pipe bags I have ever offered or seen for sale.
