A wonderful Apache woman's beaded belt bag from the 1880's. This Mescalero Apache bag echos the peyote design basketry forms so popular with these people. Intricately beaded in early colors such as corn yellow, clear bottle green, white heart rose, chalk white and cobalt blue. The hallmark circular shape and fringed and coned edging is a classic Western Apache design. Some very slight moth grazing on the rear of the brain tanned leather but no bead loss or damage to the bag. It is in simply excellent condition throughout. A seldom seen example from a great people. Measuring 6" x 7".
