Aquatint by Levachez after the drawing of Carle Vernet (1758-1836)

This fantastic Authentic Antique Aquatint by Charles François Gabriel Levachez (act 1760-1820) after the drawing by Carle Vernet (1758 - 1836). It is titled "Promenade en Guigue " No 1. The scene depicts a lady in her carriage taking a ride in a lovely park. It is in very good condition, considering it's age, some water damage in the borders that can be fixed. It is under glass for protection, the wood frame has few rubs.

Carle Vernet was trained by his father, Claude-Joseph. He won the Prix de Rome in 1782 and the Legion of Honor in 1808 with one of his battle scenes. His paintings depict historical events and daily life with accuracy in detail but ideally portrayed. Vernet was also a horseman riding until his death and often depicting the animals in his paintings.
