This is a gorgeous signed Ornella Made Italy multi strands bib necklace from the 1950's. It has 20 strands of white Venetian glass beads and a beautiful ornate large antique looking mat gold tone clasp. The longest strand is 22", the shortest is 16". The elegant clasp is 2 1/8" by 1 1/4".The following information is from Ginger Moro, author of "European Designer Jewelry". Ornella jewelry was designed by Maria Vittoria Albani and produced in Milan, Italy. Ornella design is characterized by unusual costume jewelry materials - ceramic, painted wood, shells and Venetian beads. The 1950s were the heyday of their success. It is in wonderful vintage condition, tightly stung, the clasp is secure, when looking very close, the clasp seems to have a small chip ( approx. 3-4 mm) in the top section in the middle, not sure if it was made like this. It weighs an approx. 240 grams. It is an outstanding necklace to wear by a top Italian jewelry designer.
