Staffordshire Transferware Plate 'Africana' Lions

This lovely plate with the two sympathetic lions is in the 'Africana' pattern by Phillips circa 1840. This is a prized and very collectable pattern. Notice the ladies in the border and the castle in the distance. How many castles had lions grazing on their lawns?

Except for a chip on the edge on the reverse that does not show from the front, this plate is in excellent shape. It measures 10 1/2 " across and has the printed mark.
