This is a gorgeous piece of antique Paris porcelain c1880... I have owned it for years and had it displayed proudly with my miniature portraits. The compote is beautifully decorated in pink with gold trim. The base has a gorgeous hand painted miniature portrait of a girl or young woman.. the detail is amazing. The portrait is signed "J.P.". The back of the base has the family's crest composed of a crown with lion holding a branch.. along with the motto "Semper Virens" which means "Always Flourishing" or "Always Green". The inside of the bowl is decorated with the initial "G" in gold. The compote measures 9 1/2" in diameter and 6 1/2" tall. It is in perfect condition with no chips cracks or restorations. There is minimal wear to the gold trim. The underside has the mark "V.ETIENNE PARIS R. PARADIS" in red. You will be very pleased with this piece... it is just stunningly beautiful.
