This is a gorgeous antique French sterling silver chocolate pot with a carved ivory handle. It was made by the Paris firm Gustave Keller, which was in business from 1881-1922. The pot is beautifully made with an acanthus leaf design at the base and on the lid. The piece was entirely gilded at one time, as there are the remains of gilt on the base and in the crevices. The inside has a gold wash. There are a couple of small pings on the side, near the monogram (a fancy "HA"), and a very small dent on one of the acanthus leaves. The ivory is excellent with only a couple of small short age lines. The pot is marked on the bottom "G. Keller Paris" along with the company mark in a diamond shape, and the French Minerve sterling mark. The handle unscrews for cleaning. The pot weighs 479.6 grams or 15.42 troy ounces without the handle. It weighs 546.7 grams or 17.57 troy ounces with the handle. The pot measures about 8" tall and 8" across with the handle. The base is 3 3/4" in diameter. You will be very pleased.
