This is a rare stickpin... a large carved coral horse's head with incredible detail, with nostrils flared.. mounted in gold. The gold bezel and back part around the horse head tests as 18k, and the stickpin part tests as 14k. The piece weighs a substantial 5.4 grams. The coral horse head is large and measures a tad more than 1" long, and about 3/8" across side to side, and 5/8" front to back. Here is the one drawback... the horse's mouth was carved open with the tongue showing, and it appears the the lower half of the jaw was broken off at some point. It is not noticeable from the front, but when you look at the back you can see a small area where the coral is more jagged. If this piece were perfect, it would be worth so much more! I have not seen one like it before. I am pricing it lower because of the damage. It is still worthy of any stickpin collection. You will love it!
