Remarkable Big Horn Sheep Bottle probably Italian Glass Ram

This bottle almost defies description. It is made of clear glass wound with thick ribbons of glass. The ribbons are crimped to form the wool. The work reminds me of the way that Archimede Seguso made his rostrato pieces. The technique was also used in Empoli, so I believe the ram is Italian glass. It is 11" tall and around 8.5" long. It weighs 6 lb 13 oz. The glass of the wool and horns is in excellent condition, with no damage. The feet are ground and polished, with a beveled edge. There is a 0.5" flake on the bottom edge of the back left leg. This is the only damage I see on this heavy complicated piece. The pontil scar is on the tummy of the ram. It was left unfinished when the rod was removed. You will not be disappointed with this wonderful bottle. Shipping wt 9 lb.
