Regal gold washed sterling crown pin with a very unusual bright blue un-foiled faceted center rhinestone. On each side are oval pale blue glass faux moonstone cabochons. The crown is outlined with small round clear rhinestones.
Marked "STERLING" on back. The pin has a gold tone wash over the sterling.
During the WWII years, manufacturers had to switch from base metal to sterling which they gold washed for their jewelry since the materials used for base metal were needed for the war effort. The material used and the subject matter of this pin definitely suggest a manufacture date of the first half of the1940s.
Condition: Very Good vintage condition for its age. The metal shows some wear in the form of some tarnish to the vermeil sterling, but I did not wish to over clean it.
The blue stones have no chips and are bright. No repairs.
Size: 1 1/2" long x 1 5/16" wide
