Produced between 1890 and 1910 at Mount Washington, this Wave Crest box was decorated by the C.F. Monroe Co. artists. This box was made as a holder for cabinet cards , a very popular size photograph at the turn of the century. The glass is opaline and the form is called egg crate. The dainty flower pattern is hand painted with enamels. The rim is ormolu- gilt over brass- and a beautiful ornate design.
Condition is excellent, no chips, cracks or repairs; the enamel is not worn and the gold is in great condition . Size is 6" wide by 4" tall by 3 1/4" deep.
