A gorgeous artist painted footed porcelain bowl covered inside and out with pink roses painted in soft pastels- subtle like a good watercolor painting- on a pale creamy, green background. The bowl shape is unusual- slightly oval with a gently undulating rim which curves in and has "ears" which can function as handles. The ivory colored blank was made by Tressemann & Vogt, Limoges, France between 1892-1907. The four leaf-shaped feet are covered with rich gilding and there is a thin line of gold around the rim. The bowl may have been painted at the factory or the blank may have been painted later at a different location. Whoever the artist, she/he was quite good.
Dimensions: 7 1/2" by 7 1/4" by 4 1/8" high. Condition is excellent.
