1920s 8" Terrestrial Globe Nystrom Johnston Wood & Cast Iron Base

Great decorator piece. An old 1920s globe mounted in a stand by A.J. Nystrom of Chicago, printed by W & AK Johnston of Scotland. The 8" terrestrial globe is mounted in a patinated cast iron frame on which it can revolve.This in turn sits in a turned hard wood stand with a cast iron cradle to hold the globe. The flat wooden ring at the top of the stand has layers of information from months, astrological signs, time zones etc. printed on colorful paper.

Height of globe in stand is 15 inches, wood ring 12 inches wide. Weighs 3 lbs 10 oz. The globe is in as found, uncleaned condition. It has some yellowing and rubbing of the finish, there are some paper cracks and small paper losses in a few places. Please see the photos. The stand is in fine condition.
