A rare Fulper art pottery jug from the 1920's or 30's with sterling silver overlay on the top and side of the handle. The overlay on both sides of the body depicts a spanish galleon with gulls circling overhead. The glaze is forest green with mirror black on the neck and dripping down the body.
The bottom has a music box insert with a wood cover. When wound-up it plays "How Dry I Am". It switches off when the jug is set down.
The height of the jug is 9 1/2", and it is 6" in diameter at its widest point. The cork is good and the jug is fully functional. There are no cracks, chips, repairs, etc. The silver on the handle shows some wear. There are some crystalline spots in the glaze near the ships, I don't know if they are intentional (spray bubbles?) or a flaw. The sterling is marked near the ships. The piece itself is not marked but we guarantee it to be authentic Fulper.
