A ca 1900 beautifully crafted silver spoon of 800 purity made in China for export to the West. The bamboo stem handle has three graduated discs- two medallions with raised Chinese characters and patterned border and a replica of a Chinese coin in the middle. The back is smooth and has the makers mark which I can't decipher, probably a Hong Kong silversmith, and possibly Wang Hing.
It measures 5" (12.7cm) long and weighs 16.3 grams. It is not marked for silver purity but has been tested to be at least 900. Condition is excellent.
