Ca 1900 Large 14k Gold Cameo Pin/Pendant Venus & Cupid
This quite large 2 1/4" X 1 7/8" cameo is set in a delicate filigree white gold frame. It is an exquisitely carved scene of the goddess Diana (Aphrodite in Greek mythology) playing a large floor harp while her naked impish cherub son Cupid (Eros) in a playful cross legged pose leans against the harp and watches her. The figures, the harp and the background foliage show fine detail.

The cameo is thick, 7/16" deep, including the frame, at the top and 1/4" deep at the bottom. It is in excellent condition and the clasp and swing out bale function smoothly.
