Dated 1864 Civil War Ames Manufacturing Musicians Sword

I picked this up a couple weeks ago from here in the place of origin Springfield/Chicopee area. I have always liked Ames and Horstmann swords for quality but prefer Ames because the factory is about 1 1/2 miles from my house. This sword is in nice condition with the blade nice and straight and no real dings to the edge. One may wish to clean it a bit but I always leave that up to the collector. The handle does not have showroom lustre to the plating and does have wear through the plating. It has a very good look going and well looks as if it did not spend the war being pampered. It measures about 34 1/2" overall and the handle goes 6 1/2" while the blade goes about 7/8". i tried to picture it properly to show all good and bad and answer a question or two. I also tried to price it fairly hoping for a quick sale so I can go out and find more neat stuff. Unfortunately, everybody wants Ames swords and they don't come cheap. Thanks for your time and interest and a nice first year and a half on Ruby Lane.
