Pair of Late 19th C. Johann Maresch Pottery Wall Chargers

Offered for sale is a wonderful pair of deeply molded late 19th century pottery wall chargers made by Johann Maresch. Both of the chargers depict men in Tavern scenes, deeply molded in relief framed with a highly scrolled border.

Johann Maresch founded his majolica and terracotta factory in 1841 in Aussig, Bohemia. He was famous for his humorous renditions of figural humidors and decorative plaques.

The chargers are in excellent condition, mounted for wall hanging. Both chargers have a few minor age related chips on the back foot rim.

Size: 17 ½" Diameter.
