1820 English Regency Rosewood Gilt Brass Inlaid Occasional Table

Offered for sale is an exceptional period English Regency petite rosewood occasional table inlaid in gilded brass. The rectangular top is monogrammed with the name "Haines" and is surrounded with a pierced brass gallery. The top is supported with a harp-shaped pedestal, which rests on a rectangular platform raised on four scrolled legs. The legs and platform are inlaid with brass quatrefoils and bellflowers and end in brass animal paw feet.

The table is exquisite in its mortise and tenon fox-wedged construction, with beautifully grained rosewood inlaid with unusual gilt brass designs. The circular pierced floral medallions are hand wrought and hand hammered with skilled precision. Considering the monogram, it was most likely commissioned by an important client and is obviously the work of a highly regarded cabinet maker.

The table is in excellent condition with a small amount of inlay restoration and tightening.

Size: 25" Height by 23" Width by 16" Depth.
