Presented for sale is an early 19th century English Ironstone Imari platter in oval shape with lobed edges. The platter has a wide border with panels of cobalt blue alternating with panels of iron red flowers. The center is decorated in a large floral sprig. The deep cobalt colors contrasting with salmon pinks and iron reds are picked out with gilded highlights and still retain their rich vibrancy.
The platter is in very good condition, there is a sliver chip to the foot rim on the back of the platter, and some gilt and enamel wear to be expected with its great age. The English Imari patterns of the 19th century are some of our favorite pieces and we never tire of collecting them.
Size: 20 ¼" Length by 15" Width.
