1820 English Derby Hand Painted Oval Platter
Andrew Planche and William Duesbury founded the Derby Factory in 1750. They quickly became established as one of the premiere manufacturers of high quality china in England. Their products were so esteemed that they were awarded royal warrants by King George III and Queen Victoria, and eventually metamorphosed into The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company. Rich colors and intricate gilding remain the distinguishing features of Royal Crown Derby. Their vibrant Imari patterns have become some of the most highly collected china in the world.
The platter is in excellent condition with age appropriate wear mainly to the gilt borders, otherwise no chips or discoloration.
Size: 14 1/4" Length by 10 1/4" Width.
