Late 19th C. Louis XV Kingwood Parquetry Bibliotheque or Bookcase

Offered for sale is a late 19th century Kingwood parquetry Bibliotheque or Bookcase in the Louis XV style. The Bibliotheque has two front doors inset with grille panels and a conforming brèche d'Alep marble top. The inside is fitted with five shelves, four of which are adjustable, and it is raised on short cabriole legs with scrolled sabots. The beautiful parquetry inlays on the side and door are elegantly contrasted with the bronze dore mounts.

The Bibliotheque is in very good condition with some fracturing to the parquetry consistent with age, slight warpage to one of the doors, surface re-polished and cleaned, and minor veneer replacement.
