English Oil Painting on Canvas of Horse, Frederick A. Clark, 1900
Frederick A. Clark came from a family of animaliers who were patronized by the upper crust of 19th English society. It was very popular for owners to have portraits of their favorite steeds immortalized on canvas, and such esteemed patrons as Baroness Burdett Coutts favored Clark.
The painting is in excellent condition and set into a molded giltwood frame. It is fully signed and dated and also identified by a plaque and a paper provenance on the verso.
