Late 19th C. Lacca Povera Venetian Secretary Bookcase

For sale is a charming late 19th to early 20th century paint decorated Lacca Povera Venetian secretary bookcase. It is painted with an aged yellow background, which is enhanced with French blue pastoral vignettes outlined in Rocaille frames. The bookcase is enclosed with double doors inserted with brass grillwork panels. The interior shelves are finished in a teal blue.

The secretary contains a slanted lid, which opens to a fitted interior over three long drawers. The piece is in good condition with crazing and fractures to the painted Fresco finish, adding to its lovely old world patina.

Size 82" Height, 31" Width, 18" Depth.
