German Kister, Scheibe Alsbach Mounted Porcelain Soldier, "Garde Imperiale"

Presented for sale is a fabulous German porcelain figurine of a mounted soldier titled "Garde Imperiale." The figure depicts one of Napoleon's Imperial Guard cavalry soldiers, a unique elite group of soldiers of the French Army that closely guarded and fought beside Napoleon I.

The figure is in excellent condition, a superb showpiece for a cabinet, shelf, or man's desk. Many factories produced groupings of soldiers in porcelain. Napoleon's soldiers are some of the most popular amongst collectors.

In our opinion, the figures made by the German firm of Kister, Scheibe-Alsbach are of superb quality. Made from a good heavy weight hard-paste porcelain, they are expertly hand painted with finely detailed features.
