Early 19th C. Staffordshire Ironstone Platter, Imari Pattern

We present an early 19th century English Staffordshire Ironstone platter in a gilt-enhanced Imari pattern. The oval platter is decorated with bas-relief scrolled handles and underlying cobalt blues. The floral decoration has the typical iron reds, soft oranges, and greens of early English Imari patterns that were influenced by the Chinese and Japanese imported wares.

The platter is in excellent condition with a minor amount of gilt and enamel wear consistent with age and hardly noticeable in the beautiful specimen. The platter is illegibly marked but is attributed to either Worcester or Derby or Spode.

Size: 10 ¾” Length by 9” Width.
