Presented for sale is an exceptional early 20th century oil painting on canvas of Scottish Highland Cattle reposing by a mountain lake on a grassy knoll. The use of strong earthy colors blending with a cloudy sky in the background showcases the skill of this talented artist in capturing the ultimate charm of this ancient and picturesque breed of cattle.

The painting was executed by Cari E. Watson, a 19th/20th century Scottish artist known for his depictions of Highland Cattle in pastoral settings. Mr. Watson came from a family of painters who were very skilled in depicting animals such as sheep, goats, and cattle.

The painting is in excellent condition and set into original gilded frame; titled on the reverse.
