American Historical Staffordshire Purple Transferware Bowl by Joseph Heath & Co., 1835

American historical Staffordshire purple tranferware bowl produced around 1835 by Joseph Heath & Co. The bowl is titled “The Residence of the late Richard Jordan, New Jersey.”

Richard Jordan was a Quaker preacher and anti-slavery activist (1756-1826,) the picture depicts him strolling with a walking stick on his farm in present day Camden.

Historical Staffordshire pottery made specifically for the American market has become highly collectible. The bowl is good condition with some age related crazing and discoloration.
