19th C. Hand Carved Louis XV Walnut Canape or Sofa
A late 19th C. French Louis XV hand carved walnut canape sofa featuring a finely chiseled floral center crest continuing with a coin and dot carved frame, the upright capital-topped struts dividing the back from the curved sides.
The sofa is in excellent condition with amazing detail to the chiseled frame and a desirable rich patina present. It is structurally sound and sturdily supported on six exquisitely carved cabriole legs. The lime colored damask is still in excellent condition and was obviously recently reupholstered with little use.
