19th C. Louis XVI Neoclassical Painted Demilune Cabinet Commode
Presented for sale is a 19th century Louis XVI demilune cabinet commode with a jade-green painted finish embellished in hand painted neo-classical designs including a border of urns, garlands, and flowers. The single door is decorated with a center medallion featuring a pastoral scene opening to reveal shelves.
The commode is raised on fluted acanthus carved legs and is in very sound structural condition. The somewhat faded jade green finish and painted design has faded to a desirable aged patina that shows wear and is commensurate with age. These demilune pieces are fabulous for display in any room of the house, especially for an entrance.
Size: 41" Width, by 34" in Height, by 19" Depth.
