Presenting a beautiful petite size Rococo Revival Victorian Pier Mirror with French influence. The mirror is crested with a highly carved cartouche festooned with draping vines and fruit. The frame is embellished with molded reliefs and rests on a plinth base, each side flanked with scrolling. The mirror is of an unusual petite size making it perfect for a small entrance.
It is truly difficult to find these composition and wood mirrors from this era with most of the original molding intact and gilding present, however this frame is in very good age related condition with a few minor discrepancies, and the gilding is still extraordinary. The looking glass has streaking from age and is original to the piece.
We do recommend crating for transport as it is quite heavy and delicate.
Size: 65" Height by 30" Width.
