Pair of Early 19th C. English Hand Painted Compotes
Presented for sale is an early 19th century pair of English china hand painted copotes with a reticulated scalloped border; each with a leafy pierced handle. They are decorated with a bright yellow green border with scrolled white reserves framing a center floral bouquet; all embellished with gilt highlights.
The compotes are typical of the formality of the rococo period in the opulent curvature and the artistry of decoration. They are in excellent condition with a minute amount of wear commensurate with their age.
