19th C. MIniature Portrait on Ivory of Duchess of Parma, signed Blanche
19th Century miniature portrait hand painted on ivory of a noblewoman titled, "Dsse de Parme." Marie-Louise, the Duchess of Parma, was the second wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. In this charming portrait, she is dressed in a feathered hat with puffed sleeves and gathered neckline. The painting exhibits fine detail and is signed by the artist, "Blanche."
The portrait is mounted into a cast brass frame with velvet panels, a name plaque attached. The painting is in excellent condition.
