Late 19th C. Two Tier Louis XVI Style Tea Table Etagere, Mounted in Ormolu
Presented for sale is a 19th century two-tiered French Louis XVI style marquetry and Kingwood Tea Table Étagère in oval form. The lower tier is mounted with handles, the upper tier is raised on curved uprights and embellished with a pierced bronze gallery. The table is supported on tapered legs with toupee feet.
These elegant tea tables became popular at the end of the 18th century and throughout the 19th century. They were usually found in the boudoirs of the Aristocracy where they were used to serve tea and other small confections.
The table is in excellent condition.
