A rare early 19th cemtury matching set of 8 large English Derby dinner or service plates in their ever popular King's pattern. This pattern, resplendent with lavish decoration in underglaze cobalt blues and overglaze iron reds highlighted with gilt, was introduced at Derby during the Bloor period in 1775 and has never gone out of favor.
Its timeless design is still as desirable and hotly collected today as it was in the 18th century. The set is in good to excellent condition and fabulous for cabinet display. There is minor crazing to some plates and a few minute chips and age lines commensurate with age.
