Pair of 19th C. Painted Satinwood Matched Armchairs With Cane
Presented for sale a rare pair of George III painted satinwood armchairs in the style of English Cabinet makers, George Seddon. The chairs feature inset caned backs with center medallions, double inset caned arm and caned seats. The stunning satinwood chair frames are painted in the neoclassical style introduced by the French 18th century Peintre ébénistes. The chairs are supported on delicately turned legs and are in excellent age appropriate condition with minor wear and crazing to the painted finish. The cane is intact and in excellent condition, enhanced with two loose seat cushions.
Chairs are 38" Height, 26" Width, 21" Depth, 13.5" Height of seat (frame, not cushion).
