Isis Bronze Sculpture After Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet
A fabulous bronze sculpture after Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet titled “Isis,” depicting a nude dancer in Egyptian headdress in a dramatic pose with her arms outstretched. The bronze is in excellent condition, inscribed, and mounted on a marble base.
Claire Jeanne Roberte Collinet (1852-1903) was a Belgian born sculptor who was known for creating sculptors in ivory and bronze depicting dancers in certain dramatic poses. Her pieces had a fluid energy and many of her dancers were full-figured and quite erotic.
The bronze was probably cast by Bonnard and Roman Bronze Works and exhibits very precise replication of textural details.
Size: 21” L x 15 ½” H x 8 ½” D.
